Becoming a student would no longer seem to be torturous as CBSE has now abolished unnecessary half-yearly and yearly exams until class XI in all its affiliated schools. This step is a part of the overhaul movement initiated by the board, last year.

These fruitless exams were dubbed as parts of an archaic system by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. He advocated CCE System up to class VIII, but CBSE thought it proper to apply the system until class XI. This system will be followed from 2010-11 session. It still needs HRD’s “yes.” HRD minister has no reason to say No.

The students will go through internal evaluation system which will be based on the CBSE guidelines. The syllabus will be broken into 4 schedules. And each student will be judged in such a manner that his/her all-round talents will come into focus.

The system discourages learning by rote which is destroying the natural mental faculties of the students. Now, they will be encouraged to think, imagine, visualise and have a vision.
