Venkateshwar International School, Sector- 10, Dwarka, celebrated its 11th Annual Day on November 13, 2011, with great fanfare. Vineet Joshi, chairman, CBSE, graced the mega event as the chief guest. School chairman Rajpal and principal Mrinalini Kaura accorded a floral welcome to the chief guest. Chief guest Vineet Joshi graciously gave away prizes to all the meritorious and promising students and, in his address, he applauded the students’ superlative performances in academic and co-curricular activities, besides the school management’s efforts towards grooming young achievers. He was so overwhelmed by the students’ commendable achievements in all spheres that he couldn’t help calling VIS a very innovative, and impressive, school. The cultural bonanza commenced on an auspicious note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a melodious invocation to the Almighty. The melodious crooners of VIS presented a captivating welcome song Sharda sadan mein, which mesmerised the audience. The vibrant dancers performed a beautiful medley of Indian folk dances – garba, santhal and Rajasthani. The foot-tapping beats of hip hop dance set the stage afire, and its electrifying moves made the audience explode with energy. The highlight of the cultural fest was a poignant play The Legend of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, saluting the irrepressible spirit of all the revolutionary freedom fighters. The annual report, presented by school principal Mrinalini Kaura, highlighted the international, national and state-level achievements of the school.
