The interest of education is often ignored in India. Since, census works need a large number of Counters, commissioner of the cities focus their eyes on teachers, not caring about curriculum.In Gurgaon, teachers of the private schools have been ordered to leave teaching and do people counting job. Although, summer holidays are on the horizon (mid may), several teachers have left their main works ten days earlier to fill up India’s population register. This is affecting education negatively and curriculum is getting compromised. Students come and go without getting taught.Parents are enraged at this callous attitude of the government towards education. Teachers say that they have been warned of imprisonment upto 3 years if they fail to do census job, school authorities are helpless. Usually, teachers of government schools do this counting job. But this time, teachers of private schools are being forced to leave teaching and begin counting people to update India’s population register.
