city schools should have doctors : child rights activists
Alarmed with the children’s death and sickness in the schools, a child rights group DCPCR has asked all Delhi schools to keep a doctor and necessary medicines and other related things to meet any medical emergency. Few months back, a student of Modern School, Vasant Vihar died due to an asthma attack. The school had no medical infrastructure to deal with the situation.DCPCR sent experts to schools and received their reports which revealed awful condition at schools. The group told schools that if they are unable to appoint a permanent doctor, they may go for visiting doctors. The parents are supporting this move and hope that schools will follow actions. Proper health-care infrastructures should be put in place to save the students. The schools are showing positive response, and many of them have promised to do the needful.
