hc asks doe to supply books to es students in un-aided schools
At one hand MCD is threatening to derecognize private schools which ignore EWS (Economically Weaker Section) students and not filling the reserved seats, High Court, on other hand, has asked directorate of education (DOE) how it will give books to these students. If these students do not get good books, how they will compete with rich kids who have costly books. HC said that merely giving admission is not enough, providing books and other accessories is as much important. Non-NCERT books should be given to these students to excel in exams. Only NCERT books will not help. Other books prescribed by schools should be made available without any delay, the court said. School give NCERT books to EWS students and the government reimburse them for the same. Now, the government should either ask schools to provide them or supply the other publishers and them reimburse for the same or supply the books directly.
