It also targets to build a resource pool of change agents of the coming times who would have the required skills and hold the cause of ECD. Kapil, who advised Delhi government to increase the age of school entry from 3 to 4 for tiny-tots, emphasised that the age (0-8) is very sensitive and needs expert handling. ECD is also a major field in India, especially among the unfortunate kids who need special attention.Harpal Singh (chairperson, save the children) was also present on the occasion. ECD came into existence post tsunami of 2004. This ECD centre is the first such centre in the country. It will provide diploma courses in the field of ECD.
