many schools flout doe guidelines with impunity: sources
Violating RTE guidelines, some schools are asking for income and education qualifications of parents while selling forms for nursery admission. Violating the guidelines of the Directorate of Education, leading schools of Delhi continue to sell forms from Rs100 to Rs500.
Some schools have also asked for income and education certificates of the parents. Schools including RD Rajpal and Bal Bharti Public School in Dwarka have asked the parents to submit the attested copy of their income and proof of education. ?RD Rajpal gave forms for Rs400, Indraprastha International for Rs500 and Maxford for Rs250,? said Ashish Sharma a resident of Dwarka who had gone to collect form for his so. ?I had no choice but to buy the prospectus as the forms were enclosed in them,? he said.
Sharma is also shocked that the schools have asked for the proof of income and education qualification of the parents. ?As parents, we do not have no choice but to surrender to the wish list of the schools,? he added.
Almost all the schools are giving out forms from 8:30 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon. For parents, it is a Herculean task to visit all schools in the limited period in the peak winter. ?The timings for collecting the form are very limited and all schools have a long queue of parents for collecting the forms. It is impossible to visit more than three to four schools in a day,? said Sushma Shukla, a parent from Rohini.
The parents feel that either these forms should be available online or the timings for collecting the forms should increase.
?I took a day off today to collect forms. But I could not manage more than three schools. I will have to take another off day to collect forms,? said Rashmi, a parent.
