MCD is trying hard to give a new image to its school, and to achieve the same, it is doing what it can. On November 27, it suspended 14 teachers teaching at various schools in the city for dereliction of duty and absenteeism. This is the First hard step but necessary to maintain quality and discipline. The list also includes one principal of a primary school in shahdara North Zone. He got the axe for not keeping the school clean.The strict members of the MCD monitoring committee raided several schools and made a list of absent teachers. These 14 teachers were working on contract basis. 7 regular teachers also faced the wrath for absenteeism, while 7 regular teachers are now kept under suspension; those 14 got the notice of termination of their jobs.Apart from this, the monitoring committee, whose members were appointed by Delhi High Court, also raided a school in Civil Lines Zone and Found 11 teachers absent. The action would be taken against them also.Delhi govt directs heads of schools to send list of students, eligible for sc/st/obc/Minority scholarshipsGovt/Aided schools within Delhi have been directed by the Government of NCT of Delhi to send consolidated list of eligible students who can be given sc/st/obc/Minority scholarships. The Closing date is December 14, 2010. The scholarships are available to the students of classes XI to XII. The statements should reach to concern Dy. Director of Education, Delhi.The same type of consolidated statements should also be sent by heads of public school, kendriya vidyalayas, schools run by MCD, NDMC and Delhi cantonment Board to Department for the welfare of sc/st/obc/Minorities, Govt of NCT of Delhi.
