The World Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 2010. The occasion was used by the Rotary club of Delhi and UNESCO to launch a noble initiative-save water campaign. The campaign motivated around one lakh Delhi children to sigh a pledge banner to save atleast 60 million litres of water per year. UNESCO and TERI also launched a tool kit about water management. The kits were given to schools in Delhi and around. The banner ways presented to the president of India Pratibha Patil. Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit also inaugurated an awareness programme on climate change on the same day. It gives schools an online platform to submit workable ideas on things like water conservation.
