students display inventing powers at rashtrapati bhavan
Recently, President of India Pratibha Patil invited students and common people who have invented something to showcase the same at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The innovations by school children included a pulley by a 16-year old student of Jharkhand Piyush Agarwal (XI). The pulley is attached to a water-sensor. Whenever it rains, sensor alerts pulley which in turn pulls the clothes-line inside. When rain stops, the pulley sends back the clothes-line for drying.Another student (XII) from Bhubaneshwar displayed his invention – a wheelchair with sensor. It is a breathing sensor machine. The chair can be moved in any direction by a disabled person by just his breathing pattern. He can also make a call or put on a light by breathing. The sensor reacts according to user's breathing style. Then, it gives direction to the software attached to the chair.Apart from students, many other persons also showcased their innovations which included Dry Land Forestry Technique, Sanitary Napkin Making Machine and Bicycle operated Horse Shaver.President thanked all the participants and promised government’s help to see if these machines can be produced on a mass scale.
